500.000 children
Every year, due to the lack of drinking water, 500.000 children under 5 years of age die… Everyday, due to the lack of potable water and hygiene conditions, there are at least 1,400 children dying in the world, according to UNICEF. For example, in Nigeria, nearly 70 million people are without drinking water, and 110 million without adequate hygiene and sanitary conditions. Because of the lack of potable water and hygienic conditions, dysentery usually results in death.
