In the English language, ‘scraunched’ is the longest one-syllable word. Other examples are screeched, schlepped, scratched, scrounged, scrunched, and stretched.

According to a 2011 study, 1.5 million diamond nanoparticles are created by a candle’s flame for each second it burns. However, the nanoparticles are quickly burned away by the flame.
